PAUSE BENEATH THE BRANCHES

Oh, look, dear reader, the moon yet again arrives tonight,

She seems always to be a gentle guest in the silver light,

We stand in the quiet shadows, rooted deep beside the lake,

Our branches arched skywards as the night began to wake.

The moon weaves her glow through every mountain and leaf,

Sharing each moment of the day, all the endless beliefs,

She listens and gathers our whispers, our wishes, and sighs,

All while scattering them softly across the midnight skies.

The mountains watch with their shadowed eyes,

As the moonbeams danced across the skies,

We, the trees on the shore, cradled the nights within our arms,

And stand guard for the world from any fears or harm.

So, dear reader, perchance if you ever wander near our shore,

Let the beautiful moon guide your footsteps as it softly did before,

Take a pause beneath our branches; let your worries drift away,

And find that gentle peace that lingers long after the end of day. WRITTEN BY, R MAHIMA RAM
